The Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) continued its visits to members in Cetinje, where representatives met with employees of the local public broadcaster to discuss working conditions, the position of employees, and the challenges faced by local public media outlets.

During the meeting, special attention was drawn to the fact that employees’ salaries have not been increased despite the higher budget allocations for RTV Cetinje secured through amendments to the Law on Audiovisual Media Services, changes previously advocated for by TUMM.

One of the topics discussed was the need to sign a collective agreement at the employer level, in order to more clearly define and further improve the rights and obligations of employees.

Representatives of RTV Cetinje assessed cooperation with the local government as positive, while participants also discussed the importance of local public broadcasters for informing citizens and supporting the functioning of the local community.

TUMM President Radomir Kračković informed colleagues about the current status of negotiations on the sectoral collective agreement for the media industry and the next steps in the process.

RTV Cetinje currently employs 15 people, ten of whom are members of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro.
