The Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) continued its visits to members working in media outlets across Montenegro, and during the visit to Radio Tivat discussions focused on the position of employees and working conditions at this local public broadcaster.

Union members pointed to the issue of low salaries, noting that employees at Radio Tivat receive the lowest wages in the municipality despite the level of responsibility and workload their jobs require. They also stressed that their work is not adequately recognised or compensated.

The meeting also addressed the importance of signing a sectoral collective agreement for the media industry, while TUMM President Radomir Kračković presented the current status of the negotiations and the next steps in the process.

Participants further discussed amendments to the Law on Audiovisual Media Services, particularly the implementation of provisions envisaging increased budget allocations for local public broadcasters.

Radio Tivat employs 17 people, 15 of whom are members of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro.
