Trade Union of media of Montegro organized a two-day training for media professionals at Hotel Monte Casa in Petrovac on 13–14 June 2026 as part of the project “Digital Compass – Media Workers Between Media Literacy, AI and the DSA/DMA.” The training was led by Ana Toskić Cvetinović from the organisation Partners Serbia.
During the training, participants had the opportunity to learn about the new European regulatory framework, including the GDPR, DSA, DMA, EMFA and the AI Act, and their impact on the work of media organisations and digital platforms. Particular attention was given to the role of major technology companies, the protection of media content online, and the challenges posed by the growing use of artificial intelligence in journalism.
The second day focused on the AI Act, the ethical use of artificial intelligence, and the identification and verification of synthetic media content, including deepfakes. Through practical exercises, participants worked on developing internal guidelines for the responsible use of AI tools in newsrooms.
The project “Digital Compass – Media Workers Between Media Literacy, AI and the DSA/DMA,” implemented by the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM), is supported through the programme “Protection of Rights and Promotion of Digital Citizenship: Montenegrin Digital Shield (MDS),” implemented by the Centre for Civic Education (CCE) in partnership with the SHARE Foundation, and in cooperation with the Agency for Audiovisual Media Services, with financial support from the European Union and co-financing from the Ministry of Regional-Investment Development and Cooperation with NGOs.
