President of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM), Radomir Kračković, and Director of the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro, Marinela Đuretić, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 2 July 2026, with the aim of improving cooperation between institutions and organisations acting in the public interest, as well as providing benefits and concessions for TUMM members.

The Memorandum provides for free entry to Montenegro’s national parks for journalists holding valid TUMM membership cards or International Federation of Journalists Press Cards, as well as benefits for organised group visits by TUMM members, the strengthening of socially responsible activities and the promotion of Montenegro’s natural values.

“I believe that, through this Memorandum and in recognition of the role of media workers in informing the public and promoting values of social importance, we will develop programmes and activities of mutual interest for our members, employees and the wider community,” said TUMM President Radomir Kračković.

In addition to benefits and concessions for TUMM members visiting national parks, the Memorandum also envisages the organisation of thematic tours for members, including educational, cultural, environmental and recreational tours aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of protecting nature and national parks.

“Cooperation between the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro and TUMM is of strategic importance because it connects the institutional protection of nature with professional and timely media reporting on issues relevant to the management of national parks and the preservation of their fundamental values. This partnership will contribute to greater media visibility of the work of the Public Enterprise, the promotion of the numerous values of Montenegro’s five protected areas and increased coverage of environmental issues, while also raising public awareness of the importance of environmental protection. In this way, important nature conservation issues will receive appropriate media coverage, while journalists, with the professional support of the Public Enterprise, will have access to reliable information that will ultimately help the public better understand the complexity of nature protection processes,” said Marinela Đuretić, Director of the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro.

She also emphasised that the Public Enterprise would participate in the planning and implementation of joint thematic tours and educational and promotional activities. In accordance with applicable regulations, internal rules and available resources, it will provide free entry to national parks for journalists holding appropriate press accreditation, as well as the application of existing group benefits for TUMM members during organised visits.

The document also recognises cooperation on activities that may be of interest to employees and other professionals engaged in the media sector, including activities focused on professional development, spending time in nature, preserving mental health and encouraging socially beneficial initiatives.
