Representatives of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) took part in the three-day “Work Wise Youth – Youth Rights at Work” Training of Trainers programme, held in Kolašin from 22 to 24 June. The training was organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO) as part of the EU–ILO Technical Assistance Facility for the Implementation of the Youth Guarantee in the Western Balkans.
The training brought together representatives of trade unions, civil society organisations, and other institutions involved in implementing the Youth Guarantee, with the aim of strengthening their capacity to educate young people about labour rights and decent work. Representatives of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) also participated in the programme.

The sessions were led by Dr Vesna Simović Zvicer through interactive workshops, practical exercises, and the analysis of real-life case studies.
Over the course of the three-day programme, participants expanded their knowledge of young people’s position in the labour market, labour rights, discrimination, harassment and violence at work, different forms of employment and employment contracts, social protection, working hours, wages, the right to rest, as well as occupational safety and health. Particular attention was devoted to mechanisms for protecting workers’ rights, reporting labour rights violations, and conflict management in the workplace.

In addition to providing participants with practical knowledge, the programme was designed to develop their training and facilitation skills, enabling them to pass on what they had learned to young people—particularly those who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs)—as well as to other target groups covered by the Youth Guarantee.
The training forms part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of organisations to promote safe, fair and decent work for young people through the Work Wise Youth methodology, adapted to Montenegro’s legal framework and labour market.
