By On November 6, 2024, the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) and its Youth Section organized lecture at the Faculty of Political Science, focusing on Journalism and Media Studies.
The lecture highlighted the union’s role in protecting media workers facing numerous challenges. Representatives emphasized the importance of solidarity, networking, and evidence-based advocacy for systemic change.
The session also addressed the significant societal impact of journalism in Montenegro, underscoring that while journalism is a passion-driven profession, it remains among the lowest-paid fields. The lecture reinforced the critical role of the union and the power of active membership in driving change and supporting media professionals.
Participants expressed particular interest in the challenges investigative journalists face, including safety issues, and asked how they could contribute to the Youth Section’s activities and what benefits the Section offers to its members.
This engaging discussion further strengthened the connection between future media professionals and the union, promoting awareness and advocacy in the media sector.
