By Ivana Vlaović, coordinator of the Youth Section, and journalist Danijela Lasica, representatives of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro, gave a lecture to students at the Faculty of Political Science in Podgorica.
Vlaović and Lasica discussed the importance of union organizing and educating media employees about their labor rights. They also addressed the state of journalism in Montenegro and the major challenges faced by media professionals.
Lasica focused on reporting from high-risk events and ways journalists can protect themselves, while Vlaović emphasized the significance of forming the Youth Section within the SMCG, which includes students from the Faculty of Political Science.
This lecture is traditionally organized for students of journalism and media studies, aiming to better prepare them for working conditions in the media industry and highlight the importance of networking and education about labor rights for young professionals.
The SMCG has had an intensive collaboration with the Faculty of Political Science for many years, stemming from a Memorandum of Cooperation.
