The Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) has sent an urgent appeal to the Management Board and Director of Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) to meet the demands of colleague Darko Šper, who is on a hunger strike aiming to improve the functioning of the public media service.
As the largest media organization in Montenegro, TUMM fully supports colleague Šper and his legitimate demands.
We believe Šper’s actions are courageous, yet at the same time a desperate step he was forced to take after failed negotiations and repeated efforts to point out critical issues affecting the work and efficiency of this institution.
We take this opportunity to call on the Management Board and Director of RTV Vojvodina to seriously consider Šper’s demands and fulfill them as soon as possible.
Only by doing so will they enable an end to the hunger strike and allow our colleague to return to his regular duties—an outcome that benefits both the employees and the institution itself.
Although unions may not at first glance be seen as key business partners, they actually represent essential support in the process of improving working conditions. By identifying irregularities and challenges in day-to-day operations, unions provide valuable insights that can help identify areas in need of improvement. Dialogue and cooperation with unions can be crucial for the continued progress and development of the organization.
In the hope that all issues will be resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all parties, we once again urge the Management Board and Director of RTV Vojvodina to act promptly in meeting the demands, so that this situation may be resolved and colleague Šper can return to work without further consequences.
