By The OSCE Mission to Montenegro has donated 50 PRESS vests and jackets to the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM) in order to improve the visibility and safety of journalists reporting from the field.
TUMM President Radomir Kračković expressed gratitude to the Mission, emphasizing that the donation supports ongoing efforts to strengthen the safety of journalists in Montenegro.
The existing legal framework, through the recently amended Criminal Code, provides for harsher penalties for criminal offences committed against journalists and media professionals while performing their professional duties.
The promotion of media freedom and the safety of journalists remain key priorities of the Mission and fundamental pillars of any democratic society.
