As part of the development of the new Strategic Plan for the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM), consultations were held with members to discuss the future directions of the organization’s growth.
Strategic planning is a standard part of the Union’s operations, and the implementation of the previous Strategy, covering the period from 2017 to 2021, was assessed as highly successful.
It was noted that the new Strategic Plan must be thorough, innovative, and realistic. Key topics to be addressed include the position of young people in the media, the impact of artificial intelligence, as well as safety and media literacy.
The planning process should be based on an analysis of membership needs, making it essential to conduct research to gauge members’ opinions and gather their suggestions. This approach will also enhance the transparency of the organization’s operations.
During the consultations, it was also emphasized that attention must be given to all media workers and the specific conditions in which they work, with particular focus on the position of photojournalists and cameramen.
