By The Trade Union of Media of Montenegro is deeply concerned that, even after seven full years since the attempted murder of investigative journalist Olivera Lakić, there is still no sign of a court trial beginning.
Despite some progress in addressing attacks on journalists in Montenegro, this case—alongside the murder of Dan’s editor-in-chief Duško Jovanović—remains a stark symbol of impunity and the institutions’ continued failure to protect the core values of a free and democratic society.
